Some comps go BAH, but most comps go BRRRRRRR.
Chrono Valk
A comp that goes BRRRRRRR. Put whatever the hell items you want on Kayle, put mana on Kai'Sa and then transfer it to MF. If you get a lot of AD items, you can go Irelia and then just put in as many four and five-costs as possible.
Shredder
The comp most famous for BRRRRRRRing. Just get a bunch of three-stars, then throw like uhhhh, some mystics in. Thresh is cool.
Last Whisper and two other items is probably best by the way. Also, don't go the Sniper variant.
Mech Infil
I didn't say they were dead, therefor I am right. I have no public-facing opinion other than Morello on Kai'Sa go BRRRRRRR.
Blaster Brawler
Put items on Jinx so she can BRRRRRRR. Blitzcrank makes her BRRRRRRR faster. In the late game, MF is your main BRRRRRRRer. Questions?
Rebels
This comp has pretty much equivalent power to Blaster Brawler because you can hyper roll Ziggs. However, if you do, you put Ziggs in the middle and don't play A Sol.
That variant is known as the Bomberman variant because it goes BAH instead of BRRRRRRR.
Dark Star
Ignore what Elhak has to say on the matter. The comp goes BAH and that's good. Xerath goes BAH more frequently, so stack him.
Egirls
I have no idea how this comp is good. It's been winning in top-10 Challenger, so it must be viable.
Try to make Syndra go BRRRRRRR by any means necessary. Mainly through tears though.
Cybernetics
This comp sucks and Challengers are wrong. Irelia never goes BAH for me, so it must be bad.
I've also noticed more than half the wins are because Irelia is level three, so I guess never play this comp contested or only play it if you're high-rolling out of your mind.
Void Brawler
The first optimal use I've seen for Zeke's Herald. It took me a moment to remember the item's name actually.
I'm not sure how necessary level-three Kha'Zix is, but I'm reasonably confident about everything else in the picture.
Fornari's Guaranteed Third Place™ Mech Valk
Do you hate getting contested? Do you hate hyper rolling? Are there a bunch of Rebel and Vel'Koz players in your lobby? Are you a for-fun player?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, mostly the last one, then this comp is for you!
Almost never hyper roll. Just level aggressively, winstreak, and by the time you start losing, everyone else will have half your health, and you'll barely be losing anyway, so you're guaranteed third.
Also, since you have so many GAs, you'll always be the last to lose, annoying your opponents in the early game, and placing higher than the other idiots who died the same round as you.
Meta Update
I feel pretty good about my analysis. I changed up a few comps, but overall, I feel like a gaming journalist™.
What I Got Right
- Candyland was significantly hurt to the point where it's no longer a top comp. I will note it did win two out of 100 top-10 Challenger games.
- Rebels is lit.
- I had no public-facing opinion of Mech Infil which turned out to be the correct play. One unnamed TFT expert, who I've referenced at least once before, said Mech Infil was so bad, it didn't even need a nerf. Turns out, they're stupid. Good job me for realizing my mistakes and learning from them.
- "Superdense Galaxy: Now grants a free Force of Nature after the stage 3 carousel." I correctly interpreted that, however it actually gives a FoN at 3-1 instead of 3-4. This is the second time I catch a mistake in the patch notes. Since this wasn't my screw up, we're putting it in this section.
- Shredder still goes BRRRRRRR.
- The Morello nerf did impact Kai'Sa quite a bit.
- Blaster Brawler is lit.
- Chrono Valk is the best comp. I had them at third best.
- Dark Star is lit.
- I had Shredder a bit low, but still said they were one of the meta-defining comps.
- Cybernetics were pretty low. Good call.
- Graves still hasn't been nerfed.
What I Got Wrong
- Mana Printer is pretty much dead in it's former state. However, Egirls and Void Brawler have replaced it. Still wrong.
- Pirate Blasters is definitely not playable. Nice try.
- Egirls is not dead. The buff was actually really huge.
What I Didn't Know
- Galactic Armory sucks.
- Stacking Deathblades on Irelia is kind of a thing.
- You play Two Mystics instead of two Sniper in Shredder.
- I knew of stacking Zeke's on Kha'Zix, but didn't know it was viable until looking at the stats.
