A Requiem for Set 2

Today, Wednesday, March 18, in the year of our lord, Riot Mortdog, 2020, we commemorate the champions lost in the set three rotation.

Many were great, some not so much. But they all had a common purpose: to inspire greatness. To creatively push TFT into new and exciting directions.

These champions are gone but not forgotten.

One Costs

We remember these early-game champions who founded the core of TFT.

Diana

We remember Diana who was cut down in her prime. Rest in peace Egg-roll.

Kog'Maw

We remember Kog'Maw for his ultimate. He will forever hold my heart as my favorite Luden's Echo user.

Two Costs

We remember the two-cost champions who initiated the mid-game and allowed winstreaks earlier on.

LeBlanc

We remember Leblanc as an interesting assassin with a fun stun mechanic. This ranged assassin will forever hold the title of fourth-best assassin of the set.

Malzahar

We remember Malzahar for being an early-game Summoner who also synergizes with Shadows. My only regret is I didn't build more Shojin's on him.

Neeko

We remember Neeko for having one of the most interesting early-game ults in TFT and being a great Morello user. Thank you Riot for buffing her in multiple patches. She won't be the same in set three.

Syndra

We remember Syndra as my second-favorite Luden's Echo user. That's pretty much the only reason she's here.

Thresh

We remember Thresh for making shielding mechanics interesting. Thank you for also synergizing with Oceans.

Three Costs

We remember three costs for being the core of winning comps. These champions signify the end of the mid game.

Aatrox

We remember Aatrox for being the king of dunks. Also as my third-favorite Luden's Echo user.

Nautilus

We remember Nautilus for being the Blitzcrank of set three, but thiccer. Thank you for being one of my favorite tanks of all time.

Qiyana

We remember Qiyana as the most interesting assassin of set two. Riot tried for greatness, but many hated the elemental hexes.

Sion

We remember Sion for being another king of dunks, but Shadow. He will forever hold the title of my favorite Berserker.

Four Costs

We remember four costs for signifying the start of the late game.

Annie

We remember Annie for continually finding her bear, Tibbers. Very cool Riot, thank you.

Janna

We remember Janna for making healing interesting. We give thanks for the many buffs she's received.

Kha'Zix

Correction: K-k-k-k-k-k-k-k-k'zix is not correct. Very cool Joey.

We remember Kha'Zix as my favorite assassin and user of Seraph's. We give thanks to Mortdog for recommending Bloodthirster.

Lucian

We remember Lucian for going r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-at. That is all.

Yorick

We remember Yorick as the most interesting Summoner of set two. His synergy with Light will be missed.

Five Costs

We remember five costs as the epitome of TFT. These late-game monsters make or break comps.

Singed

We remember Singed for being fast as fuck boi. Thank you for introducing this mechanic to the game.

Taric

We remember Taric for being a literal rock. Thank you for making yourself an immovable object.

Zed

We remember Zed as one of the most interesting assassins of all time. Thank you for shocking the world.

Lux

We remember Lux as the most interesting champion of set two. Thank you for dealing 99,999 damage.
