A Requiem for Set 3

Set three was a return to what most loved about TFT and added interesting champions and ultimates. However, as patch 10.12 approaches, Riot has exiled nine champions to make room for more gameplay. Today, we pay tribute to those nine.

Author's note: I had way too much fun writing this article... brrr.

Kha'Zix

One of the few champions that's been in every set. He isolated champions, and with the changes to RFC, functioned more like Set 2 Kha'Zix.

A lot of Kha'Zix's bite got taken out this set, but his ultimate still gave a satisfying bah, especially in the early game.

Kai'Sa

The opposite of Kha'Zix, this champion goes brrr instead of bah.

One of the most satisfying feelings of Set 3 was putting Morello and Demolitionist Spat on Kai'Sa and watching her stun a handful of champions while Morello burned them.

Sona

Sona: one of the queens of hyper rolling.

She made multiple comps incredibly strong, especially with Chalice of Harmony. She printed mana and health, and also cleansed stuns for most of this set.

She's not as good of a standalone Mystic as Karma, but with items, she's arguably the best Mystic of Set 3.

Lux

One of the best users of angles, Lux is one of the premier Dark Stars.

Although she typically only ulted once after the comp became optimized, she still had a massive impact on fights.

You could also say she's the original Val'Koz as she went in what's now called the Vel'Koz spot to ult as many people as possible.

Kassadin

The only champion to ever have an AOE Disarm.

If you ever needed a Celestial, Kassadin was your champion.

Cho'Gath

If you like CC, there's not much better than Cho'Gath.

He knocked up most enemies in a fight and had a ludicrous amount of health. Also, he was an excellent item holder and Warmog's, Morello was hilarious on him.

Kayle

Arguably the best four-cost of the set.

This champion could use pretty much any offenseive item. Put Bows, Rods and Swords on her and you're probably having a good time.

Also, she attacks really fast. Brrr.

Vel'Koz

Bah. Bah. Bah. Bah.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Miss Fortune

One of two 29-cost champions.

Invest gold into MF, get her to two, put some mana and AP on her and uhhh....

laughs in Miss Fortune

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
