Fornari’s Patch 10.1 Notes Notes

I definitely made this with fancy video-editing software and not kapwing.com

TL:DR

  • Blender is dead.
  • Tear of the Goddess is probably the best starting item.
  • Lights are probably viable. Please God let me be right about it this time.
  • Summ Sins got some sick buffs.
  • Bramble Vest and Iceborn are insane.
  • Hush sucks.
  • Neeko's insane.
  • Solari only shields three squares. Correction: Solari still shields five squares.

Game Changing

  • Lunar Released alongside Leona and Karma. These champions are awful and a complete bait except in one comp. A comp that has exactly two free slots: Hyper-Roll Lights. The comp has three one-costs and one two-cost. Alongside some other direct and indirect buffs, this may be a top five composition which we’ll go over at the end of the article.
  • Three new Little Legends released, completely changing the skin meta.
  • Bramble Vest is basically Thornmail and Phantom Dancer in one item. This is potentially an S-tier item, but I need to see it in action. Also note, this works really well with hyper-rolling Nasus and Leona as it scales with champion levels.
  • Iceborn Gauntlet may also be another S-Tier item. Put this on any champion that uses Seraph’s and you’re good to go. I think this is a major buff to Summ Sins and a slight buff to Preds.
  • Hush has gone the way of Cursed Blade and has a 20 percent lower chance to proc. Expect this item to get removed soon™.
  • Neeko requires 33.3 percent less mana to ult. I don’t know what statistic Riot’s looking at, but this champion is already insane. She did not need this massive buff. She’s now the best stand-alone two-cost in the game. Play her in the early-game every time she’s offered.
  • Sivir ults for 28.6 percent less time. Blender is dead!

Major

  • Quicksilver permanently grants CC resistance. This is huge and may be the best or second-best defensive option for a backline carry, in contention with GA.
  • Solari only shields three squares and generally shields for 8.3 percent less health. In most comps this actually isn’t that big of a deal, but is a sizeable nerf to Berserkers. Correction: Solari still shields for five squares. I thought the best item in the game would get nerfed more and my brain exploded.
  • Statik Shiv deals 6.7 percent more damage on a two-star and 33.3 percent more on a three-star. Firstly, this is an excellent idea. Secondly, this may put Lights in the meta.
  • Red Buff and Morello deal 20 percent less damage. This shouldn’t be too huge, but it may lose you some rounds.
  • Lights have 40 percent more attack speed at six. If this doesn’t put them in the meta, I’m never writing about them again.
  • Ocean gives 50 percent less mana at two.
  • Vayne has 10 percent more health and deals 11.1, 8.3 and 6.7 percent more ult damage. Along with the Light and Shiv buffs, this may be sick bro.
  • Syndra requires 18.8 percent less mana to ult. This, along with the Luden’s buff, may make her a tertiary threat in Ocean Mage. Also, champion’s nuts in the early-game, especially with Luden’s.
  • Aatrox has 14.3 percent more health and deals 20 percent more ult damage at all levels. Lights?
  • Qiyana stuns for 16.7 and 12.5 percent less time. This tunes down her early-game and should prevent players from throwing in a one-star Qiyana regardless of situation.
  • Amumu requires 20 percent more mana to ult after the first time, deals 66.7 and 20 percent less ult damage and stuns for 25 percent less time at level one. This was the best stand-alone unit in the game; thank you for the nerfs. Also, this is an indirect buff to Poison.

Minor

  • Frozen Heart slows for 60 percent more. Unfortunately, it still only slows for one second, but is definitely a playable item now. Also, stacking increases the range, so stacking two on maybe Singed or Kha’Zix could be strong.
  • Luden’s Echo deals 6.7 percent more damage on a two-star and 33.3 percent more on a three-star. This may change the way Preds are built.
  • Druids regen 12.5 percent more health. Neat.
  • Shadows deal 8.3 percent and 7.1 percent more damage. Neat.
  • Warwick deals 11.1 and 14.3 percent more ult damage at levels two and three and also requires 16.7 percent less mana to ult. This is a really nice buff to Preds as playing a level three Warwick is more viable.
  • Malzahar’s minions deal 33.3 percent and 16.7 percent more damage. He’s one of the worst two-costs in the game, but this may bring him into viability and may bring up the winrate of Shadow Summs.
  • Skarner gets 66.7 percent and 15.4 percent more attack speed when ulting at levels one and two, but is the same at level three. This should help Preds transition.
  • Azir does 20 and 10 percent more ult damage. We take a Summ Sins buff baby.
  • Nocturne attacks 6.7 percent slower and has 9.1 percent less attack damage. This also hurts his IE damage.
  • Annie’s Tibbers deals 16.7 percent less damage at level one and 16.7 percent more at level two. The second-best four-cost got nerfed level one, and buffed level two. Why?
  • Nami deals 66.7 and 20 percent less ult damage. Not sure about this, but okay.
  • Kha’Zix and Master Yi can no longer get stunned while untargetable. We take the Summ Sins buff even though this was a bugfix.

Insignificant

  • Last Whisper has replaced Repeating Crossbow. Still an awful item, but less trash at least.
  • Titan’s Resolve is the new worst item in the game. I think there may be a typo, because if it resets every round and it takes 50 stacks, this item is actually unplayable.
  • Ionic Spark still sucks. I’d argue this is even a nerf.
  • Senna still sucks.
  • They buffed level three Varus. Please @ me if you ever accomplish this.
  • Twitch deals a whopping four and 6.7 percent more damage. Why are we being so conservative on buffing the worst stand-alone four-cost in the game?
  • Master Yi is still the worst five-cost.

Compositions

I cannot stress enough that I have no idea if these are actually going to be the best comps in the game, nor do I know if these are the optimal seven items. I do think these will be really strong compositions, but due to the insane amount of changes and tons of never-before-seen mechanics being added, it's really hard for me to predict what the meta will be.

With that said, I'm sure about Summ Sins being really strong. I do think Lights are finally playable with the changes to Shiv and all the buffs they received along with being able to give Vayne 70 percent attack speed and a shield at the start of the round.

I'm not sure about The Kog'Maw build I made, but I think Iceborn and the new Luden's will be really strong.

Finally, Poison Summs is something I made up, but basically replace that with random five-costs and it's probably one of the best comps in the game still.

Poison Summs

This is basically the new random five-costs comp. It's probably slightly better than Ocean Mage, but we'll see.

If you get a bunch of GAs, you should attempt to play this or Summ Sins.

Note that Thornmail should be Bramble Vest. It's made with the same items.

Ocean Mage

Due to the nerf to two Oceans and the buff to Syndra, this is probably the best iteration of the comp. Also, with the indirect nerf to Zerks and the buff to Quicksilver, you can position Brand one square up.

Summ Sins

This comp got a nice buff through Azir, but more importantly, it isn't necessary to get a level two Kha'Zix. Put Iceborn on this champion and enjoy freezing their whole team.

Preds

Still in the meta boi. Poison got some indirect buffs through Twitch and the higher mana cost of Amumu. Also, I think Luden's Kog'Maw may be best as Luden's got buffed, Iceborn is insane and Red Buff got nerfed.

Also, slight buffs to Warwick and Skarner are nice. The Nocturne nerfs are irrelevant.

Note that Thornmail should be Bramble Vest. It's made with the same items.

Hyper-Roll Lights

Oh boy, here we go again. I promise it's good this time. Hyper-rolling will really help this comp as Shiv and Bramble Vest scale with champion levels and Lights got huge direct buffs. Just stack Shivs on Vayne 4Head.

Also, being able to give Vayne 70 percent attack speed and a shield at the start of the round is probably nuts and this comp thrives off prolonged fights.

Since this comp has three one-costs and one two-cost, it's easier to roll for than Preds.

Note that Thornmail should be Bramble Vest. It's made with the same items.

Meta Update

This one is really short as I already did one.

The only thing I didn't know about was there's a viable Ranger comp which I based Lights off of. You can play either Poison or four Wardens.
