Fornari’s Patch 10.8 Notes Notes

TL:DR

  • Xerath is out and is basically AP Kayle. Play him in Jhin comps and take out Shaco.
  • Don't int as hard because champions do more damage.
  • Garen is dead.
  • Play Egirls.
  • Chrono Valks got a few minor buffs which may put them over the edge.
  • Shielding is now reduced by 66 percent during ULTRA RAPID FIRE UUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Game Changing

  • Xerath has been released and is basically Dark Star Kayle. He looks like a strong AP item user in six Dark Stars and should replace Shaco. I'm not doing any math on this one by the way; he's just good because I said so.
  • Two new Galaxies have been released: one where you get one free reroll per round that doesn't stack and another where you get a free Force of Nature at level five. Also, there's about a 50 percent chance to get a special Galaxy. Neat.
  • Getting a two or three gold winstreak bonus takes one more round, meaning you must have four wins for two gold and five wins for three.
  • Champions do more damage, but the base damage from the stage has been lowered. Basically if three or less champions survive, you should take the same, if not a bit less, depending on the stage. This should only have a significant impact during stage three. (The stage with Wolves. Learn your stages.)
  • Mech Infiltrator is dead because they killed Garen. Just trust me; I definitely did the math Kappa.
  • Four Sorcerers do 12.5 percent more damage. Egirls are now the best comp.
  • Syndra's attack range is three hexes instead of two. Egirls?
  • Soraka has 7.7 percent more health and heals 7.1 and 10 percent more at levels one and two. Egirls' weakness is survivability, so shoring up that weakness could be really toxic.
  • Chalice of Favor also gives mana to Ahri the holder. Put it on Ahri.
  • Deathblade now stars at zero stacks but gains double the attack damage per stack. Item's useless now. No one's wasting two B.F. Swords on this trash.
  • Rapid Firecannon increases range by 200 percent instead of 100. Maybe Bang Bros will be good?
  • Tear of the Goddess gives 25 percent less mana along with all items built from it. This is probably only relevant on Syndra as she'll have to attack twice to cast her first ultimate instead of once. Also, where the hell is the B.F. Sword or GA nerf?
  • Shielding is now reduced by 66 percent during ULTRA RAPID FIRE UUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Major

  • Caitlyn does 7.1 and 50 percent more ultimate damage at levels one and two. Now she's pretty much guaranteed to one-shot units which is definitely relevant for the first half of the game.
  • Xayah gets 33.3 and 25 percent more attack speed at levels one and two from her ultimate. She is now an acceptable item holder.
  • Zoe does 33.3 and 22.2 percent more ultimate damage at levels one and two. Egirls?
  • Darius requires 14.3 percent less mana to ult. Very nice, but could be negative as you may need to prolong the fight and further damage champions. Maybe with some positioning tricks, Darius can be an insane AP holder.
  • Lucian has 9.1 percent less attack damage. This champion was insane in Cybernetics. Good nerf that shouldn't allow people to blindly winstreak with him.
  • Shen now has 14.3 percent more health. Not sure why we're buffing Chrono Valk, but okay.
  • Shaco has 9.1 percent less attack damage, and does 20 percent more ultimate damage at level one, but 12.5 percent less at level three. I don't think he has a place now as I'll be replacing him for Xerath.
  • Vel'Koz doesn't int as much anymore. They fixed his AI or something. I don't know; I'm probably not going to play him for at least a week.
  • Shroud of Stillness should hit two columns instead of just one. SeemsGood.

Minor

  • Four and six Celestials heal for 33.3 and 8.3 percent more respectively. I've occasionally gone four Celestial when running Ashe, so this could see some relevance.
  • Cybernetics get 6.25 percent less bonus health and attack damage. This should be noticeable, but shouldn't be too big.
  • Rakan is basically two-cost Vi now. I feel like this is a nerf, but I'm awful at Protector Mystic, so ask Korea which I've been told spams it.
  • Shen's ult lasts for 25 percent longer at level three. Level three Shen is playable, especially since you can chill at level seven with Chrono Valk.
  • Jinx has 7.1 percent more attack speed. Not what's gating her or Blasters from getting played, but we take those.
  • Wukong does 20 and 11.1 percent more ultimate damage. Also, they fixed a bug where he wouldn't do damage for the first 0.25 seconds. This would be completely irrelevant if not for Chrono Valk.
  • Frozen Heart slows for 25 percent more. Neat.
  • Apparently ZZ'Rot Portal minions were not supposed to give damage, nor were champions pulled by Thresh. That's been fixed.

Insignificant

  • New Carousels have been added. I have no information on this and haven't done any research, so uhhhhh... ¯_(ツ)_/¯
  • There's a bunch of new Trait bonuses you can only get with Spatulas, like nine Blademasters. Not sure why this wasn't implemented on release, but okay.
  • You can now see what Mercenary upgrades you bought. This would've been really useful two patches ago, but we take those.
  • Four Space Pirates have a 33.3 percent higher chance to drop items on kills. We take those as well?
  • Zoe 's stun lasts for 33.3 percent longer at level three. I've literally only seen one level-three Zoe in my life, and that's because I was the one who built it.
  • Annie got some buffs to her shield. She's literally unplayable unless you're running Mech Infiltrator which is dead. She's possibly the worst standalone two-cost in the game. No, I just checked, she's literally the worst two-cost in the game.
  • Fizz has 7.7 percent less health but 14.3 percent more attack speed. Again, Mech dead; Infiltrators don't exist.
  • Aurelion Sol has 15.8 percent more health and takes about 13 percent less physical damage. He's playable at level nine maybe? Or maybe even an okay Thresh pull?
  • Zeke's Herald is still unusable. Nice try though.

Compositions

If AP, Egirls. If not, Jhin. SMOrc.

Egirls

Seraph's, big AP item and defensive item on Syndra. Tank items on Neeko. Roll seven. SMOrc.

Jhin

Warning: you must have a GA on Jhin. Other than that, IE and a third item like Last Whisper or Hurricane is optimal. Throw AP on Xerath if you can, if not, either Lux or Ashe, whoever is closer to level three.

Go seven, roll down, get two three-stars, and put some tank items on Morde.

Chrono Valk

AP on Kayle, AD on Irelia, tank items on Cho. SMOrc.

Basically, go this comp if Cybers aren't working.

Cybernetics

If you have bad items, this is the comp for you! Red buff on Lucian and you're good to go until stage four.

Put items in somewhat of a sensible order and you should have a free top four.

Calamari

I don't know how to play this comp dude. I basically copied it from this player named Elhak on Discord.

Play this in case you don't get Egirls I guess?

Brawler Blaster

I've kind of tried this comp like twice I think? This is more of a transition comp, but if you get perfect items, it could be good, especially with the Jinx buff.
