Online Charity TFT Tournament by ESC and UTA Esports

On Sunday at 5:00 PM CT, ESC, in partnership with UTA Esports, will be hosting an online charity TFT tournament and 100% of entry fees will go to North Texas Food Bank, a charity rated 95.8/ 100 by Charity Navigator. We have $99 in prizing, already raised $50 in entry fees, and if none of those stats matter, you'll get to compete against me, and this time, I will be in finals.

Also, the tournament is open to everyone with an NA account. Gogogo! https://bit.ly/2REy5qB

What's the Tournament?

I'm glad you asked!

If you've attended any of my previous online TFT tournaments, it's going to be exactly the same. In case you haven't, the tournament comprises of three rounds of round robin, followed by two final rounds.

So, you get points based on placements, 130 for first, all the way down to five points for eighth. After the first three rounds, the top-eight point earners will go into the final rounds. Points are then reset, and if you manage to get top four after two rounds, you'll get one of our four prizes totaling $99. Also, all players who make top eight get a shoutout on Twitter. Wow!

What Are the Prizes?

UTA Esports's sponsors have been kind enough to provide us with $99 in prizing through four separate prizes.

Firstly, we have the HyperX Pulsefire FPS Pro mouse, valued at $35. I have this mouse and really enjoy it. On a good mouse pad, it slides quite cleanly, and after a few days of getting used to it, I started clapping on osu!

Secondly, we have a few goodies from Cloud9: their streetwear bag, two wristbands, and a Cloud9 lanyard valued at $34 total. I'll be winning this one, so don't bother :).

And finally, we have two HyperX Fury Mousepads worth $15 each. Nothing to say about this one. Looks neat though.

What's North Texas Food Bank?

It's a food bank... in North Texas.

They're rated very highly on Charity Navigator and for every dollar donated, they provide three meals.

It's also probably good to raise money for food banks during a pandemic.

Why a Charity Tournament?

'Sometimes we do things because they're cool and that's okay.'

Free Range Musings Promoted Content

The content you’ve just read, indicated by the tag at the top of the article, is promoted by us, meaning someone paid us to write it. Except in this case, I'm promoting myself, and I didn't pay Joseph :). With this and any other promoted piece we will ever do, we will never agree to anything that doesn’t allow us to say exactly what we want to, because again, I promoted and wrote it, so I'm not going to drop myself as a sponsor.

But again, I'm the sponsor, so this is more a PR piece than a news article. So it's biased or something I guess?

¯_(ツ)_/¯
