10.23 Meta Review

Only one change this week: Talon's ultimate scales by 11.2% less attack damage.

Compositions

Pretty much the same as last week, but Ashe is by far the best comp, and Riven is the second best.

Ashe

Brawlers into finding an Ashe. Pretty simple comp. The only thing that's changed from last week is Giant Slayer is probably the best third item since you're probably going to run into a lot of Brawlers.

Dusk Riven

If you get a bunch of defensive items, you're probably playing Riven. Generally go Cultist into selling your Chosen at seven and playing the 4-1 lottery.

The only thing I've changed is moving the frontline one to the left as it feels better for some reason. Also, I've changed Riven's third item as Dragon's Claw feels pretty weak and because Ahri is dead apparently.

Talon

If not Ashe, go Talon. Pretty similar items and champions to Ashe and similar playstyle. Also, you have to hit less five costs, so it's more reliable.

Five Costs

If you have a ton of gold and a bunch of bullshit, just go this comp. Put Morello on someone and faceroll components on random champs.

If you really feel like gambling, sell your Chosen at nine and roll for a Chose five cost.

Chosen Cultist

Apparently nine Cultist is lit right now, but I'm still convinced my comp is better.

Disclaimer: the one time I tried this comp, I went 8th.

Chosen Yasuo

Still a comp and the Xin Zhao buff helped it a bit. Streak with Yasuo and get LP.

Chosen Sharpshooter

Find a Chosen Sharp and streak. You can also fit in Fortune for a bit for extra memes.

If you get Chosen Vayne, go Cass instead of Yuumi, and if you get Chosen Nid, go J4 instead of Yuumi.

VietNami

I have no idea why this comp spiked in wins this week, but it has. Gogogo.

Chosen Shade

Despite the buffs, the comp has a lower winrate than VietNami. I haven't played it in a minute, but it should still be quite strong as long as you have RFC.

Chosen Diana

It's basically Talon, but with more carries!

Hyper Roll Vayne

It's literally Dusk Riven, but with Vayne carry instead of Riven. The point of the comp is to streak with Vayne early so you can hit all your champs more easily with higher HP.

A side benefit: Vayne's items are a lot more flexible. You can stack AP or attack speed on her.

Ahri

Apparently this comp has literally zero wins in top-10 Challenger. I guess the Sej and Ahri nerfs were really huge.

The only major change I've made is instead of having the triangle positioning, I've positioned Ahri similar to Sharps. I'm not sure why, but it feels a lot better to do so.

Meta Update

Haven't done one of these in a while. I got a lot right, but the set's been out for a year, soooo....

What I Got Right

  • Talon is the third-best comp; I said second.
  • Riven is the second-best comp; I said first.
  • Kat is still trash.
  • The Xin buff helped Chosen Yasuo.
  • You should definitely play the 4-1 lottery.
  • Five Costs are the fourth-best comp; I said sixth.
  • Chosen Sharp is the seventh-best comp; I said fifth.
  • Chosen Shade is the ninth-best comp; I said seventh.
  • I perfectly called Chosen Diana's strength.

What I Got Wrong

  • Ashe is by far the best comp; I said third.
  • Ahri is basically unplayable; I said she was the fourth-best comp.
  • Chosen Cultist is the fifth-best comp; I said ninth.
  • I had Chosen Yasuo as the second-worst comp.
  • I had VietNami as the worst comp.

What I Didn't Know

  • I changed the the frontline positioning in some comps one square toward the main carry. It feels better.
  • Dragon's Claw is pretty weak.
  • Vayne is a comp. @Nova Terra.
