Fornari’s Patch 10.24 Notes Notes

The game's completely changed and I have little idea what's good. All I know is playing extremely flexible will serve you well. Also, you want to roll down at eight instead of seven.

TL:DR

  • Roll at eight instead of seven or play a slow-roll comp. Also, play flexibly.
  • You take one more damage in the mid game.
  • Four costs and four-cost Chosens are less likely to appear until level eight.
  • You'll have a bit more gold in the early game.
  • Diana four is dead.
  • VietNami is dead.
  • Talon is close to dead.
  • Ahri is back to being decent.
  • Ninjas are decent.
  • Zed is forceable without a Chosen Shade.
  • Warwick comps are back.
  • Jarvan IV is a crank.
  • Jinx is a support unit, not a carry.
  • Put Warwick in Ashe comps.
  • Lee Sin is playable again.

Game Changing

  • You take one extra damage at stage three and four, but two less damage at stage six.
  • Chosen odds have been dramatically changed. The two biggest changes are Chosen four costs are 5% at level seven, so roll for them at level eight, and getting a two or three-cost Chosen is much more likely. Also, Chosens appear in your shop a bit more often.
  • Roll odds have been changed to lower the chance of getting four costs until level eight. Also, one costs now have a much higher frequency at later levels.
  • You get slightly more loot from stage one. Basically, "no more two-gold starts."
  • Chosen Cultist only gives one extra star to Galio instead of double the level. This will affect the early game quite a bit, meaning less streaking. Also, going six or nine Cultist will be harder to accomplish.
  • Diana gets 11.2% and 23.1% less shielding at level three and four. This, along with the Talon nerfs, should kill the composition.
  • Nami requires 25% more mana to ult after first cast. This kills VietNami.
  • Jarvan IV requires 50% less mana to ult for first time and 33.4% less mana after first cast. However, his knockup duration has been reduced by 50%. I thought this would be a minor buff, but J IV is now a crank. He ults way more times, ults at the start of the fight, and can hold items much more effectively. Invest in Jarvan.
  • Zed has 6.7% more attack speed. Zed is now a forceable comp without even having Chosen Shade.
  • Akali deals 16.7%, 11.1% and 14.3% more ultimate damage at levels one, two and three. Ninjas should be back given all the recent buffs.
  • Jinx is now a support champion. Her stun is now AoE and stuns for 33.3% and 66.7% longer at two and three. However, she deals 25%, 23.1% and 18.2% less ultimate damage at levels one, two and three and requires 140% more mana, or seven more autos to ult after first cast. Also, her Chosen gives mana instead of SP. With Shojin, this is mitigated, but now your main carry is either going to be Jhin or three-star Vayne.
  • Jhin has 17.6% more attack damage. Riven and Sharp comps are lit now.
  • Talon is pretty much dead but still a top four comp. Basically the strength of Ahri in the last two patches.
  • Warwick has 21.4% more AD, 11.2% less attack speed, and his ultimate no longer fears enemies. However, after every takedown, he grants 60 and 75% attack speed for three seconds at levels one and two to any unit that shares a trait with him. Meaning, every Hunter, every Brawler and every Divine unit gets stacking attack speed. Include this unit in Ashe. Also, Divine comps are back.
  • Lee Sin stuns his primary target for 33.3% and 50% longer at levels one and two. However, he stuns secondary targets for 33.3% less time. Yasuo and Warwick buffs. Also, since you want to be flexible, Lee Sin is back to being a playable unit.
  • Yone's ultimate has been reworked. Essentially, it no longer stuns, does less damage, but requires less mana and shreds more resistances. This means he has less upfront impact but does more DPS. Could you think of a comp that gives him more survivability and thrives in extended fights? Yasuo buffs anyone?

Major

  • Aphelios has 11.1% more attack damage and requires one less auto to ult for first cast. Harder streaks for Ashe or Jhin.
  • Lulu's knockup lasts 33.4% less. However, her healing lasts for the entire combat and can stack. She's basically slightly worse Janna now.
  • Pyke does 16.7%, 20% and 16.7% less ultimate damage at levels one, two and three. He was the default Sin, so fair enough.
  • Xin Zhao requires 25% less mana to ult for the first time and after first cast. Warlords are still not a comp, but that's a Yasuo buff.
  • Cassiopeia requires 16.7% more mana, or one more auto, to ult for the first time and 25% more mana, or three autos, after first cast. However, her ultimate gives 100% more damage amplification. Basically, only expect Cass to ult once, but expect that ult to be much more impactful.
  • ZZ'Rot's minion has 33.3% less attack damage. Still a great item, but there's going to be a lot of lost fights in the early game because of this.
  • Zilean now supposedly doesn't ult Azir soldiers. I've still seen this happen when there were other targets, so I'm not sure how much of a fix this is.

Minor

  • Grey Orbs are slightly more valuable.
  • All Chosens that give AD have been lowered from 30 to 20. The only thing this would significantly impact is Yasuo, but as his ult has been buffed, this shouldn't really have much impact.
  • Lissandra deals 11.2% less ultimate damage at level four.
  • Yasuo deals 12.5% and 5.3% more ultimate damage at levels one and two. This should offset the Chosen nerf and allow you to streak a bit harder, especially with items. Also, Yasuo two without Chosen is a bit more viable in the early game.
  • Azir requires one more auto to ult for the first time and two more after first cast.

Insignificant

  • The "extreme variance in item distribution" has been lowered. This basically means you can never get four of the same item from carousel.
  • Losing 11 times in a row as Fortune is now better. Also six Fortune got nerfed. Sure.

Compositions

I have almost no confidence in most of these comps. Just play flexible and use these as more of a guideline, not a requirement. Real comps after the stats come in.

Dusk

Jhin got an insane AD buff. Just find some defensive items for Riven and AD items for Jhin. Or, find perfect items for Riven and use her to carry.

Items are really flexible with the comp, but you eventually want to have something that looks like this. Also, at eight, you should decide between having Azir or Zilean in your comp.

If you don't have Dusk, you can take out Vayne and either stay eight or go nine.

Ashe

As you can see, this is an expensive comp. You can play Ashe however you want, but I believe this is the best end-game state you can be in with an Ashe comp.

Carry with Sharps or Aphelios early, roll a bit to stabilize at six and seven, go eight, and see what you hit. Good luck!

Zed

Apparently, you can just force this and get top four every game. As long as you have RFC on Zed, it should be a free top four. You don't even need Chosen Shade by the way.

You should stabilize, roll at seven for a single Shen, then go eight and roll into eternity.

Five Costs

If you have a bunch of health and random items, this is the comp for you. The only item I'd recommend is Morello.

Chosen Divine

I have no idea how people are playing Warwick, but this is the way I'll be playing Warwick until I see some stats. This is basically Divine with Ashe.

The point of Warwick's items is the Sunfire spreads and as long as he lives, pretty much every enemy champion that dies procs his ultimate.

Also, you can absolutely go this comp without a Chosen Divine; Just take out Nunu and put in Wukong.

Note: This is pretty much the exact comp you would run for Bonkey Kong, but replace Irelia for Wukong.

Hyper Roll Vayne

Do you have a Chosen Vayne? Congrats! Just stick pretty much any three items on her and get a top four.

Ideally, go Gauntlet, QS, IE, but your third item is very flexible.

Note: if you end up playing four Sharps, Rageblade is the best third item.

Chosen Yasuo

This comp keeps getting buffed and now I think it's time. Just throw a bunch of items on Yasuo, roll down at 3-4, level to six immediately after, streak your ass off, go eight, pick some stuff up, GG!

As long as you have AD items on Yasuo, you can't go wrong.

Chosen Sharpshooter

Basically the same as always, but your support is Jinx and your carry is Jhin.

As always, if Nidalee, go J IV instead of Yuumi, and if Vayne, Cass instead of Yuumi.

One note: you can play this comp with Vayne as your carry.

Chosen Cultist

Jhin got buffed; stack Jhin. Streak with Galio. Literally impossible to screw this up given items.

Ahri

I have no idea what I'm doing :).

Akali

Literally Zed comp, but Akali. You play Yone, Pyke instead of Eve, Kayne.

Talon

The only knowledge I have about this comp in 10.24 is I played Riven in a normal game and got second to Talon.

It's still playable, but I think you can only play it if you're streaking and find a bunch of Talons and no Ashes or Jhins. Think of this as the Ahri comp of last patch.
